Watching this reminds me that during the all-day singing, Chris talked about how Sacred Harp singing started in Palo Alto during the 1970s, that he himself had first sang in Palo Alto more than twenty years ago, and then he asked those who had been singing in Palo Alto back then to stand. We don’t go back centuries, as they do in the South, but the history of Sacred Harp singing in the Bay Area nearly forty years.
